2nd Training Course on Basic Library Management for School Teacher-Librarians
The Bantayan Island Association of School Teacher-Librarians (BIASTL) in cooperation with Santa Fe National High School (SFNHS) cordially invites you to a three-day intensive training course on “Library Management for Teacher-Librarians” on July 6-8, 2011 at Santa Fe National High School, F. Duarte St., Poblacion, Santa Fe, Cebu.
The training course aim to provide expert and fully focused training on the fundamental practices relating to selection, acquisition and organization of library materials, reference works and on designing library orientation program. This training-workshop is designed particularly for teacher-librarians who are new to working with libraries, whether from public or private schools of all levels. However, the participants are not limited to teacher-librarians but also include school administrators, and other individuals interested in library works.

Bantayan Island Association of School Teacher-Librarians Founded
BNHS, Bantayan, Cebu. The Bantayan Island Association of School Teacher-Librarians (BIASTL) was officially founded on July 9, 2009 thru the initiative of Mr Marcial R. Batiancila (Director of Libraries, SSC-R de Cavite), Mr. Milvelle D. De la Peña (Principal, Bantayan National High School) and Ms. Aida L. De la Cerna (University Librarian, Cebu Normal University.
The following were elected as the founding officers of the association, namely : Annabelle Ofqueria, President; Rosalina Negrido, VP for Bantayan; Jose Gila, VP for Madridejos; Diana Echavez, VP for Santa Fe; Sul A. Villaceran, Secretary; Virginia De la Peña, Assistant Secretary; Edith Maderazo, Treasurer; Jennifer Larida, Assistant Treasurer; Reynante Illustrisimo, Auditor; Ligaya A. Batiancila, PIO; and, Shiela Escarro, Muse.

Basic Training Course for School Teacher-Librarians
The St. Thomas of Villanova Libraries of San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite in cooperation with the Cebu Normal University Library and Bantayan National High School cordially invites you to a 2-day “Seminar-Workshop on Basic Library Management for School Teacher-Librarians” on July 8-9, 2009 at the Bantayan National High School.
The objective of the seminar-workshop is to enhance the teacher-librarians (private and public secondary schools) on the basic library management concepts which includes among others are cataloging and classification of library materials, organization of vertical files, updates on library standards and the library profession. Participants are not limited to school teacher-librarians but also include school administrators, and other individuals interested in library works.
A registration fee of P300.00 will be collected to all participants to cover food, training materials and certificate.
