Bantayan Island Association of School Teacher-Librarians Founded
BNHS, Bantayan, Cebu. The Bantayan Island Association of School Teacher-Librarians (BIASTL) was officially founded on July 9, 2009 thru the initiative of Mr Marcial R. Batiancila (Director of Libraries, SSC-R de Cavite), Mr. Milvelle D. De la Peña (Principal, Bantayan National High School) and Ms. Aida L. De la Cerna (University Librarian, Cebu Normal University.
The following were elected as the founding officers of the association, namely : Annabelle Ofqueria, President; Rosalina Negrido, VP for Bantayan; Jose Gila, VP for Madridejos; Diana Echavez, VP for Santa Fe; Sul A. Villaceran, Secretary; Virginia De la Peña, Assistant Secretary; Edith Maderazo, Treasurer; Jennifer Larida, Assistant Treasurer; Reynante Illustrisimo, Auditor; Ligaya A. Batiancila, PIO; and, Shiela Escarro, Muse.
