2nd Training Course on Basic Library Management for School Teacher-Librarians

The Bantayan Island Association of School Teacher-Librarians (BIASTL) in cooperation with Santa Fe National High School (SFNHS) cordially invites you to a three-day intensive training course on “Library Management for Teacher-Librarians” on July 6-8, 2011 at Santa Fe National High School, F. Duarte St., Poblacion, Santa Fe, Cebu.

The training course aim to provide expert and fully focused training on the fundamental practices relating to selection, acquisition and organization of library materials, reference works and on designing library orientation program. This training-workshop is designed particularly for teacher-librarians who are new to working with libraries, whether from public or private schools of all levels. However, the participants are not limited to teacher-librarians but also include school administrators, and other individuals interested in library works.

Bantayan Island Celebrates National Book Week

Bantayan Island. 24 November 2009 —  For the first time, Bantayan Island joins in the national observance of the National Book Week  with the  theme  “Kaaya-ayang Magbasa sa Kapaligirang Kay Ganda.”  The activity kick-off  today with a book character parade participated by 7 national high schools and 11 elementary schools from the municipalities of Bantayan, Madridejos and Santa Fe.

The event is spearheaded by the Bantanyan Island Association of School Teacher-Librarians (BIASTL).

284 Pass Librarian Board Exam

The Professional Regulation Commission announces that 284 passed the Librarian Licensure Examination given by the Board of Librarians in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao,Legazpi & Zamboanga this November 10 & 11, 2009. The members of the Board for Librarians who gave the licensure examination are Corazon M. Nera, Chairman; Elizabeth R. Peralejo and Elnora L. Here is another interesting website– the WikiPilipinas for Filipino scholars, students, educators, information enthusiasts, etc. It is an online, free content encyclopedia on the Philippines.
